Blogs as marketing tools…

The thing that I like most about blogs, and I think I’ve mentioned this before, is how easy they are to set up and post to.  The other nice thing about blogs is that you can make them show up on search engines. However, I’m not sure exactly how search engines rate a blog’s content. It seems that any marketing done by using a blog would be considered viral marketing and not mass marketing…

Shooting guns…

I love shooting guns. I love the bang that they make and the satisfaction of hitting what I’m aiming at. I love the feeling of power when a gun jumps in my hand when I fire it. I suppose I shoot at least a couple times a month but sometimes two or three times a week. I have a membership out at the Deer Creek gun range in east Missoula so the drive is only about fifteen minutes. Typically I’m gone for about two hours or so and those two hours are pure stress relief. All my worries and frustrations are made insignificant when I’m too busy concentrating on doing something I truly enjoy.

Ah yes… Shooting trap!

Not too hard… but more questions.

I think I’ve got a little over two hours into creating my blog and it’s really not difficult. What I want to know is how do you get the word out about your blog? If companies use blogs how will people know that they exist? I realize that my blog will show up on a google search but I suppose it would be pretty far down the list… I’ll have to ask Dr. Mohr about this later.

First thoughts…

As I begin playing around with this blog, the first thing that strikes me is how easy it is to get started. The next thing I am noticing is that changing the layout of the blog is not readily apparent. Maybe I’m just inexperienced… anyway I’m trying to get the widgets on either side of my posts, if you read this and it’s not changed yet, help would be appreciated.

This is my first ever post so I’m not sure on what I should say. What are blog rules on grammar and punctuation errors? Maybe my mother will know, she was an English teacher for about 15 years. If anybody reads this and has an answer, please post a comment.
